About Andrew Duffield
Andrew Duffield was educated at Plymouth and at Durham University. He runs his own energy consultancy business in Northumberland and is married to Helen, a farmer's daughter and first school teacher from Corbridge in Tynedale. They have 2 children at a Local Authority high school and live on the edge of the Hexham constituency. Andrew has served in the Royal Navy and has spent time as a manager in the National Health Service and as a senior manager at Newcastle University. He has also served as a District and County Councillor in Northumberland and has stood for Parliament three times - securing a significant swing to the Liberal Democrats in Hexham at the 2005 General Election. Andrew has a record of campaigning for liberty and for localism, and will fight to maintain Northumberland's Middle Schools where parents want them and it make economic and educational sense. He opposes Labour's public service cuts and the sham of "caring Conservativism". Andrew backs British business, supporting libertarian issues and actively promoting a fiscal solution to the crisis in affordable housing as well as in environmental, transportation and urban/rural regeneration matters. Andrew Duffield will provide a strong, honest voice for the people of Northumberland.
